R.C.I.A., or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, is an honored process within the Church which has been practiced since its beginnings and recently revived. It is the way of introducing adults to the Catholic faith. The full process includes the reception of new, potential members into a period of study and reflection, leading to their full initiation into the Church: with their Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist.
Sessions begin each Fall and continue every two weeks until Easter. At the Holy Saturday Vigil, the Sacraments are conferred and the new member is fully initiated into our faith.
The R.C.I.A. is also important for those Catholics who, for some reason, never received the Sacraments of Holy Communion or Confirmation. They too can receive these Sacraments at the Easter Vigil, or at one of the Sunday Masses of the Easter Season.
The R.C.I.A. is likewise available to Catholic adults who would simply like to have a review of or revisit an overview of their faith on an adult level, to gain a better understanding of all that we believe.
Our Director of the R.C.I.A. is Mrs. Patricia Hope.
